Hawai'i Island HIV/AIDS Foundation provides services to nearly 300 men, women and children living with HIV/AIDS on the Big Island, while offering confidential HIV, Hepatitis C & Syphilis counseling and testing as well as prevention education to the community. Our vision is to build a healthier, stronger, and more sustainable community that supports all its members with a focus on HIV related issues. Our Case Management team is the core to linking all client services with other community-based organizations. Case Management is client centered and provides a comprehensive assessment approach of available resources and how to access the services as efficiently as possible. Our Prevention Department provides prevention education and outreach services to adult women, adult men and youth. Educational discussions, prevention and intervention activities are arranged and scheduled either individually or in group settings. Services can occur anywhere such as local parks, beaches, shopping areas, schools or other public and private environments or facilities. Services include condom distribution, safer sex kits and other risk reduction materials, sharing information about HIV and STD risk, harm reduction counseling, providing on-site confidential HIV and Hepatitis C testing, counseling and referrals.
